Abstract
Effort to increase the production of oil palm can be
conducted through application of plant growth regulator
(PGR). Orgamin biostimulan is a natural PGR formula
that has been tested to improve the vegetative growths of
corn and oil palm in the glass house. Assessment of
Orgamin and Orgamin plus (Orgamin + micro nutrient)
applications at commercial scale was carried out in
Marjandi oil palm plantation of PTPN IV using
randomized block design with three treatments, i.e. K =
100% recommended dose of inorganic fertilizer
(control), O= Orgamin (1.5 kg/tree) + 50% dose of
inorganic fertilizer, OP = Orgamin plus (1.5 kg/tree)
without inorganic fertilizer. The parameters of
observation at 2.5 months after the treatments were soil
and leaf nutrient contents (N, P, K, Mg), percentage of
female flower, mesocarp oil content, and harvested fresh
fruit bunches (FFB). The observation showed that there
was an increased in oil yield, weight of FFB and leaf
nutrient content, while the percentage of female flower
and nutrient content of soil were not significantly
different compared to the control.
Abstrak
Upaya untuk meningkatkan produksi kelapa sawit
dapat dilakukan antara lain melalui pemberian zat
pengatur tumbuh (ZPT). Biostimulan Orgamin merupa-
kan formula ZPT alami yang telah diuji di rumah kaca
pada tanaman jagung dan bibit kelapa sawit. Uji coba
aplikasi Orgamin dan Orgamin plus (Orgamin yang
diperkaya hara mikro) pada skala lapang dilakukan di
kebun kelapa sawit Marjandi PTPN IV dengan
menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) untuk
menguji tiga perlakuan, yaitu 1) K (kontrol) = 100%
dosis anjuran pupuk kimia (APK = kontrol), 2) O = 50%
dosis APK + Orgamin (1,5 kg/pohon), 3) OP = Orgamin
plus (1,5 kg/pohon) tanpa pupuk kimia. Peubah yang
diamati pada 2,5 bulan setelah perlakuan adalah kan-
dungan hara tanah dan daun (N, P, K, Mg), persentase
bunga betina, rendemen minyak mesokarp, dan produksi
tandan buah segar (TBS). Hasil yang diperoleh me
nunjukkan terdapat peningkatan rendemen minyak, bobot
TBS dan kandungan hara daun, sedangkan persentase
bunga betina dan kandungan hara tanah tidak menunjuk-
kan perbedaan yang nyata antara perlakuan dan kontrol.
